Ah, the big question: why boudoir? Out of all the styles of photography, what drew me to this intimate, powerful genre? The answer is rooted in my lifelong passion for art and the deep connection it fosters between creator and subject.

Growing up, art was my sanctuary. My mom and older brother taught me how to draw, and I would lose hours perfecting my sketches. One of my earliest joys was gifting these portraits to friends and watching their faces light up when they saw how I captured them. That spark—that moment of seeing someone recognize their own beauty—stayed with me. When my father gifted me my first camera, that spark grew into something even greater. I was no longer just drawing beauty; I was capturing it, framing it through my lens. From family to friends, I loved creating images that made them feel beautiful.

Fast forward to when I pursued my passion formally at La Cité Collégiale, graduating in 2008. I dabbled in nearly every kind of photography—weddings, families, animals, nature, even real estate—but the portraits always called me back. There’s something special about capturing someone’s true self, beyond the surface, beyond the smile.

But one comment I heard all too often from my female clients was heartbreaking: "I’m just not photogenic." That word should not exist. I never understood why my mother, who I thought was the most beautiful woman in the world, felt the need to look "perfect" every morning. And later in life, hearing my wife—after bearing two of our children—express frustration about her post-baby body broke my heart. I wished she could see herself through my eyes, the way I see her beauty radiating through every change, every mark, every moment.

That’s when everything clicked for me. Boudoir photography became my mission, my purpose. It's not just about taking photos; it's about giving someone the gift of self-love, of confidence, of empowerment.
